Cutie Mark Ivory Scrimshaw Pendants

Here is a set of seven cutie mark pendants I scrimshawed on elephant ivory (on material that was imported before the ban on ivory importation to the United States in 1989) over the period of about a year.  They measure one inch high.

For those who don't know, scrimshaw involves scratching lines into a piece of polished ivory to form a design, then ink is applied to the image and wiped off. The ink sticks to the scratched area, leaving behind the image that was etched. The craft originated from 19th century whalers using ivory whale teeth, usually depicting a nautical design.
